Robert Bibeau Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McMillan-Small Funeral Home & Crematory on Feb. 19, 2026.
In Loving Memory of Robert Francis Bibeau Jr.

December 6, 1942 – February 16, 2026

With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Robert "Bob" Francis Bibeau Jr., who passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, after courageously battling cancer and other health challenges. He was 83 years old.

Bob was the oldest of three children born to Robert Sr. and Gertrude (Young) Bibeau. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as younger sister, JoAnn and the mother of his four sons, Virginia. He is survived by his younger brother, Paul Bibeau, his four sons, their spouses and his 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

In April 1961, Bob married his high school sweetheart and lifelong love, Virginia Marie (Delhaie). Together, Bob and Ginny built a beautiful life and raised four sons-David, Steven, Scott, and Mark-becoming a full family of six before the age of 24. Bob proudly served in the United States Navy, completing three years of honorable service. Following his time in the Navy, he dedicated over 25 years to the Connecticut State Police, earning the respect and friendship of countless colleagues. Bob kept in close contact with his friends from the State Police, considering them family.

In 1994, Bob made Myrtle Beach his home, where he spent the last 30 plus years of his blessed life. A man of deep faith, Bob was a devoted parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church, where he formed cherished friendships and found great spiritual fulfillment. Bob's passions were simple and sincere-faith, family, and friends. Outside of these three devotions, Bob also carried a lifelong passion of cars. He had a remarkable gift for identifying a vehicle's make, model, and year by sight or sound alone. His humor, energy, and unmistakable "Bibeau Tough Love" brought joy, wisdom, and strength to his family as well as anyone who knew him.

Bob leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and unwavering devotion.

A memorial mass will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 20, 2026 at Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Myrtle Beach, 3701 North Kings Hwy., Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave. N, Suite # 101, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.

We love you, Dad. Your laughter, your spirit, and your guiding presence will remain in our hearts forever.

I worked with Bob (The Tomata) at Troop-D many years ago. He was a great and funny guy. He always laughed at his own jokes. He was always there to help whenever he could. Condolences to his family. RIP!

I was a Trooper who worked with Bob years ago in Eastern District Traffic / Truck squad
A truly great guy who we all enjoyed working with. The hard part for me was that I just learned now that Bob lived right up the road in Myrtle while I lived down the road in Mount Pleasant. Would have loved to have seen him again. RIP Bob

Rest in peace Trooper. I retired from the CT State Police and reside in Murrells Inlet. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Bob but CSP is family. May God bless Bob.
