I was another lucky one to have worked with Bob ( Chief ) back in the CL & P building back in the 60's throughthe mid 80's. A man above men, different departments we worked in but saw each other everyday. Always had that great smile and so easy to to talk to. I was lucky enough to coach 1 of hi son's in baseball so saw him even outside work. Then my wife got to work with Bob in Newtown. As well as everyone else we miss him and so sorry to hear of his passing. God Bless his entire family. We will meet again my friend.

Chief Bob was like the bull of the gang at times. If he was going to bend something you needed to make sure you were not in his way. In spite of his physical strength, that was no measure for the strength in his heart. A loving and caring family man, a great person to work with, and a great friend. In our group Bob was an icon and will be missed by all that ever knew him. We will meet again my friend.

My deepest condolences to the Blankschen family. Bob was one of the kindest people I've known. We got to know each other through St. Gregory's and he came to my video store often. He will be missed. My prayers are with you all.

Deacon Blankschen was a wonderful part of our extended family. And not just because he and my dad took the same careful attention to well kept hair! He was sincere, gentle and always had a smile and a laugh. My deepest sympathies to the whole family during this sad time. May the memories and stories give you comfort.

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I will always remember our days of working together at CL&P. He was always a fair and honest boss and will always be remembered.

Bob was the even tempered, unflappable, knowledgeable, kind, and friendly guy we all enjoyed working with and being around during our CL&P years...the good ol´ days! I remember sitting on the shore of Candlewood Lake one weekend, and saw Bob swimming to shore, careful measured strokes, head/chin above the water, and not a single hair out of place...and if you busted him about that, he´d laugh it off and join in the fun. Losing Bob is losing another one of the good guys. RIP Bob, and I offer my most sincere and heartfelt condolences to his entire family.
