Robert "Bob" Callanan, a beloved figure in the lives of many, left us peacefully on October 26, 2025, in Bridgeton, Missouri. Born on April 30, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, Bob lived a fulfilling life marked by dedication, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to his family and work.
Bob enjoyed a long career in the printing industry, and later went on to find joy in retirement as part of the team at Bass Pro Shop. His professional endeavors were accompanied by a remarkable work ethic, but it was his personal interactions that truly defined him. Known for his incredible smile and genuine hugs, he made everyone feel welcome and part of his family, no matter who they were.
In life, Bob embraced outdoor adventures, particularly fishing and golfing. However, his greatest passion was found in the company of his family. He cherished every moment spent attending his grandchildren's sporting events, shows, and recitals, celebrating their successes with pride and unconditional love.
He honorably served in the United States Army, showcasing his dedication not only to his work but also to his country. Bob's spirit of service and kindness extended to all corners of his life, creating an enduring legacy of connection and compassion.
Bob is survived by his loving daughters, Patty (Bob) Wroblewski, Pam (Randy) Mueller, and Shelly Meyer; his sons, Michael (Shelly) Callanan, Rob (LeaAnne) Callanan, and step-daughters Sheila (Greg) Brown and Lisa (Mike) Rogers. He also leaves behind a large, adoring family including grandchildren Nathan, Hannah, Justin Wroblewski, Sarah Mueller, Kayla Mueller, Samantha (Brendon) Kelley, Becky (Patrick) McDonnell, Allison Callanan, Connor Callanan, Rebecca, Ian, Louis Meyer, Shannon (Alex) Zverev, Delaney Callanan, Ryan (Libby) Brown, Joey (Marti) Brown, Kayla (David) Olson, Jason, Lauren, and Annie Austin, along with Missy (Nick) Fons, Tim (Gianni) Rogers, Courtney (Andrew) Chema, and 32 great-grandchildren, as well as one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Barbara Callanan, and his parents Glennon and Leona (neeSeyer) Callanan. He is also reunited with his siblings: William, Glenda Muente, Ronald, Frances Lucido, and Barbara Callanan, as well as step-son Kevin J. Austin.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate and honor Bob’s life with visitation on November 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri.
Bob Callanan will be remembered not just for his professional accomplishments but for the love and laughter he brought into the lives of those around him. His legacy of kindness, warmth, and dedication to family and friends will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.
