Robert "Bob" Crofoot, a beloved figure to many, left this world on June 9, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on July 14, 1949, in Dekalb, Illinois, Bob spent his life as a dedicated self-employed truck driver, traversing the vast roads of the United States. His job was not just a profession; it was a passion that allowed him to witness the beauty of countless landscapes while meeting people from all walks of life.

Known for his affectionate nickname "Grumpy," Bob was anything but grumpy at heart. He was a wonderful man with a generous spirit, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. His easygoing nature contrasted beautifully with his love for adventure, whether it was dancing to Elvis tunes or enjoying a moment of bliss sitting on the porch, watching the hummingbirds flit about. He found joy in simple pleasures, often spending time at the local bar enjoying drinks with friends and watching semi-trucks roll by, reminiscing about his own journeys on the road.

Bob’s educational journey began at Dekalb High School, and it was perhaps this foundation that helped shape the remarkable life he led. His dedication was further highlighted during his service in the United States Army, where he served honorably during the Vietnam War.

He leaves behind his loving friend, Tammy Randol, who stood by his side, offering companionship that enriched both of their lives. He is survived by his two sons, Robert and Dennis. Bob is also survived by his siblings, Betty, Doris, and William.

Bob is preceded in death by his beloved sister Anita and his parents, Wendell Crofoot and Cecilia (Hofbauer) Crofoot. While their absence is deeply felt, the memories shared will forever be cherished.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bob's life during a funeral service on June 24, 2025, at Parker-Price & Davidson in Topeka, Kansas, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Private burial will take place at Topeka Cemetery.

Though he has departed from this earthly realm, Bob's spirit will continue to inspire those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His warmth, kindness, and infectious joy will remain etched in the hearts of all who loved him. Bob Crofoot may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
