Robert Stadler Drenk, age 84, passed away on October 28, 2025, in the most peaceful and beautiful way possible. His family got to be near him and say goodbye as he took his journey to Heaven. Bob enjoyed 62 years of marriage with his wife Donna (Pagenkopf) and was an amazing father to David and Daniel, father-in-law to Heather and Stacey, and grandfather to Alexis, Emerson, Michael, and Harmony.
Born on December 26, 1940, Bob had a happy childhood in Wauwatosa, WI, with his father Fred, mother Margaret, and brother Dean. Bob served his country in the US Marine Corps from 1962 to 1965 alongside his friend Denny Niederkorn. After graduating from mortuary school, he worked as a funeral director with his wife’s family at Pagenkopf Funeral Home.
Bob and Donna made their home in Oconomowoc, WI, and enjoyed countless fun times with their sons, relatives, and friends. After retiring in 2009, Bob and Donna moved to Wausau, where he loved spending time with their grandchildren.
Bob enjoyed traveling, beginning with his parents and brother, and continuing with his wife and family. He visited all 50 states and distant locations, from Hong Kong to Venice and from the Panama Canal to the Arctic Circle. He was a Christian, an Eagle Scout, a Harley rider, and a Mason. Bob loved to learn, to build cool collections, and to make us all laugh. He looked forward to going to Heaven so that he could finally know everything.
We will miss him dearly but have no regrets, for Bob lived a great life, full of blessings, and enjoyed it all.
A funeral service will take place Sunday, November 2nd, at Zion Lutheran Church (709 N 6th Street, Wausau, WI) with a visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and a service at 4:00 PM, followed by a dinner.
A graveside service with military honors will take place on Saturday, November 15th at Summit Cemetery (3600 Delafield Rd, Summit, WI) at 11:00 AM, followed by a luncheon at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (2228 Silver Maple Ln, Oconomowoc, WI).
