Robert “Bob” Walter grace passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026 at the age of 78. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Aida Jocson Grace. Bob was born on March 7, 1947 in Clifton NJ, the only son of the late Lawrence Grace and Ana Stabinsky Grace. He is survived by Estrella Abella (the late Dennise), Flora Batucan (Rochelle), Manuel Jocson Sr. (the late Lordes). His nephews: Denster Abella (Weng), Deinz Abella (Heather), Scott, Schultz Jocson, Dwayne Abella, Nathan Abella, Rustin Batucan, Lynch Mark Cutara, Anastacio Cutara, Jerson Jocson, Manuel Jocson Jr., Manuel Jocson III, Antonio Agravante, Troy Agravante, and Bien Agravante. Nieces: Shella Mae Jocson, Jean Agravante, Yumi Abella, Malou Jocson, Lyrie, Lyca Cutara, Ivy Jocson, Donna Abella (Galen). Preceded in death by Florence Stabinsky and Eileen Fengya; Rudy Jocson (the late Ligaya), and Larry Jocson (Nida).
Bob graduated from St. Benedict’s Academy in Newark, New Jersey, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Montclair State University in New Jersey. He later obtained his Master of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans. He was a life member of Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity.
Bob began his professional career as a computer analyst with M&M/Mars Chocolate and Prudential Insurance in New Jersey. He later served as a Systems Information Analyst for the United Nations in New York. His career subsequently brought him to Houston, Texas, where he worked for Superior Oil Company, which later merged with Mobil Oil Exploration and Production USA. In 1985, Bob relocated to New Orleans to join Fidelity Information Services, Inc. at the Hibernia Data Center, now known as Capital One Bank. Following his retirement from a long and successful career in information systems analysis, Bob earned his Public Notary license and continued working as a notary for UPS.
Bob was deeply committed to civic engagement and community service. For the past ten years, he served as President of the Woodland Oaks Civic Association and was highly respected by the board of the Westbank Civic Coalition Organization (WCCO). He also participated in the Jefferson Parish President’s Advisory Committee for Permitting and Planning Projects. In addition, Bob served as a former board member of WRBH 88.9 FM, Radio for the Blind; former Secretary/Treasurer of Lions Club District 8-S; and former Board Director of the Asian American Lions Club. He was also formerly active in the Asian Pacific American Society.
In his leisure time, Bob enjoyed reading, studying history, appreciating the arts, watching movies, and taking relaxing drives.
He will be remembered for his generosity and service to the people in his community, and above all else to God. He was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of St. Martha Catholic Church in Harvey, LA.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association, WRBH – 88.9 FM, Radio for the Blind, Reading Radio, and the Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF).
Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 1:30PM in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 LAPALCO BLVD., in Marrero, LA. Visitation will begin at 10AM. Please visit MOTHEFUNERALS.COM to view and sign the online guestbook.
