It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" William Holland, who left this world on October 5, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on May 7, 1963, in Hamilton, Ohio, Bob lived a life rich with love, laughter, and devotion to his family and community.
Bob was a true embodiment of hard work and dedication, having carved out a career that showcased his entrepreneurial spirit. He owned H & H Carpet before becoming an invaluable bus driver for JCPS for over 17 years. His commitment extended beyond his professional life; Bob spent countless hours serving in various ministries throughout the Louisville area, where he touched the hearts of many with his genuine nature and uplifting presence.
Education played an important role in Bob’s life. He attended Farmdale Christian School, where he met his beloved wife, Janna. He continued his education by completing many hours of Bible college, which complemented his musical talent and passion. With a minor in music, Bob took great pleasure in leading choirs and congregations, sharing his gift and love for music with others.
Bob's personality was as vivid as his interests. He was known for his humor, boldness, and loving nature. He brought joy to those around him, always sharing funny stories and laughter. A strong hard worker, you always knew where you stood with Bob. He was never afraid to show his affections or concern.
His hobbies revealed the depths of his vibrant character. An avid Victorian gardener, Bob found joy in raising chickens, pigeons, canaries, and various other birds, creating a little piece of farm life within the city. He cherished aquatic life and was a collector, often exploring new hobbies that sparked his curiosity. This trait was passed onto his sons that burn with that same passion.
Bob was deeply devoted to his family; he was proud to be a husband, father, Papa, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He cherished his relationship with Janna, and his heart held a special place for his mother, whom he had looked after with unwavering care after the loss of his father.
Bob leaves behind his loving wife which he spent 49 years together and 38 years of those in marriage. The legacy he leaves in his children and grand children will forever be evident in them. The word of God tells us to leave a path to follow Joshua 4: 6-7 (condensed) To serve as a sign among you, in the future, when your children ask you, what do these stones mean? These stones are to be a memorial to your family.
As we remember Bob, we reflect on the profound impact he made on everyone’s lives. His spirit will live on through the memories shared, the laughter he brought, and the many lives he touched. A memorial gathering will be held on October 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272.
Bob leaves behind a loving circle of family and friends and was warmly welcomed first by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and then by his son Chad, his father, and a host of other beloved family and friends.
His legacy of love and bold faith will forever echo in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Though Bob may no longer walk among us, his memory will remain a guiding light in our lives, reminding us to love fiercely, laugh heartily, and cultivate our passions.
