Robert "Bob" Lee McComb, Sr., 86, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Born in Toledo, OH, Bob graduated from Woodward High School, married and served two years in the Army. He returned to Toledo in 1953 where he was employed by Wabash Railroad, which is now known as Norfolk Southern. In 1964, Bob and his family moved to Fort Wayne, where he was employed with International-Stanley. In 1968, he returned to the railroad and worked with Norfolk Southern, where he remained until his retirement in 1989. Bob moved to a home at Dallas Lake, where he loved fishing and being around the water. He also enjoyed music, woodworking, tying blankets and playing bingo. Surviving are his children, Robert (Cynthia) McComb Jr. of Fort Wayne, Dwight (Lyn) McComb of Camby, IN, Karen Hunter of Pittsboro, IN, and Brian (Amanda) McComb of Fort Wayne; sisters, Carol (Joe) Gossman, and Marilyn Mills; brother, Doug (Kathy) McComb; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Memorial service is 3 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at D. O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with memorial calling 1 hour prior.
