Robert Dean “Bob” Morris, 60, a resident of Austin, Texas, passed away on December 27, 2025, in Austin.
Bob was born on October 4, 1965, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Phillip Dale and Mary Ann (Aldridge) Morris. He graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 1984 and went on to attend Oklahoma State University, where he earned a degree in Economics in 1990. In 1992, Bob moved to Dallas, Texas, later living in Houston for a couple of years before settling in Austin in 2008, which he proudly called home.
Bob began his career in the oil industry in 1994, working in information technology for Halliburton and later Amoco Oil. He also worked in software and IT for the Internal Revenue Service and, most recently, for Austin Energy, where he was employed at the time of his passing.
Outside of work, Bob had a deep love for music and enjoyed attending concerts. He was an avid traveler, having visited six of the seven continents, and he hosted a podcast titled Road to Austin. Bob treasured time spent with his beloved nieces and nephews, and he adored his dogs, whom he considered his children. A devoted Oklahoma State University fan, Bob was especially proud to have attended the final Bedlam game.
Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Morris, and his grandparents.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Morris; brother, David Morris; aunts, Wanda Morris, and Billie Jean Reedy; niece, Hannah (Morris) Passafiume and her husband, Alec Passafiume; nephews, Hunter Morris, and Austin Morris; many cousins; and a multitude of other family members and friends.
