Robert "Bob" Ware Sheplee, aged 93, of Nisswa, Minnesota, peacefully passed away at his home on December 7, 2024. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on November 28, 1931, Bob lived a life defined by love, faith, and service.
A proud United States Marine, Bob served in the Korean War from 1949 to 1952. After his service in the Korean War, Bob met Joyce Carolyn Beall, and within three months, they were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, starting a lifetime of love and partnership. Together, they raised three children: Robert, Pamela, and Sheri, while Bob pursued a successful career in the dental industry, ultimately becoming Vice President of Patterson Dental Supply. In 1981, he and Joyce realized their dream of moving to Nisswa, where they ran Nisswa Insurance Agency.
Bob was deeply involved in his community, serving as President of the Nisswa Chamber of Commerce, a leader in the Lakes Area Food Shelf, and as a driving force behind the town’s beloved Christmas lights tradition. In 1996 he was named Citizen of the Year for his outstanding contributions. After retiring in 2008, Bob continued to serve as a golf ranger at Grand View Lodge, where he cherished the camaraderie and natural beauty of the course.
A devoted family man, Bob found joy in boating trips with his children and shared countless memories with his nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. His warmth, humor, and generosity will be missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his wife of 72 years, Joyce; his children, Robert (Linda) Sheplee, Pamela (Dan) Jager, and Sheri (Pete) Olson; his nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as his dear friends Cari and Glen Nygard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Emma Sheplee, his brother Dan Sheplee, and his sister Vivian Ingmundson.
A funeral service will be held at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, Minnesota, on Friday, December 13, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
