Robert “Bob” Snodgrass, 82, of Beaufort, originally of Indiana, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House of Newport.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Ann Street United Methodist Church of Beaufort. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 on Sunday at the church's Fellowship Hall across the street in the Eure Building. A livestreamed version of the service will be available on the church's Facebook, linked here.
A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Bob dedicated his life to service and innovation. He built a career as an electrical engineer and computer programmer, fields that reflected both his technical skill and deep curiosity. Computer programming was not only his profession but also his favorite hobby.
Bob was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and remained actively involved in several church groups throughout his life. His faith and community were central to him, and he found great joy in participating in church activities.
Later in life, Bob cherished his move to Beaufort, where he enjoyed living near the coast and being close to his children and grandchildren. He embraced the coastal lifestyle, often taking daily one-mile walks around town. He also loved spending time at the senior center, where he remained socially active and engaged with others.
Bob’s legacy is one of dedication—to his country, his work, his faith, and those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who shared in his journey.
He is survived by his two daughters, Beth McCreary of Beaufort; Amy Whaley and husband, Gary of Ayden; five grandchildren, Brenden McCreary of Raleigh; Lauren Finney and husband, Micheal of Newport; Jenna Heckman and husband, Cody of Cusseta, GA; Cody Dietrich of Raleigh; Cameron Stokes of Greenville; two great grandchildren, Ella Heckman and Beckham Finney; brother, William “Bill” Snodgrass and wife, Eileen of Monroeville, PA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his parents, George and Vicky Snodgrass; brother, Richard Snodgrass; and son-in-law, Joe McCreary.
Condolences and life tributes may be sent to the family at www.noefs.net
