Robert Leo, son of Leo and Carole (Knobbe) Snyder, was born April 10, 1951, in Lake City, Iowa. He grew up north of Breda and graduated from St. Bernard's High School in 1969. Bob started out working as a mechanic in his younger years but his passion grew for woodworking and construction as he got older.

On April 14, 1973, Bob was united in marriage to Constance “Connie” Sibbel in Manning. Three children were born to this union. They first made their home in Carroll before settling in Manning in 1976. Bob's dedication to his work was evident first through his workmanship and then, starting in 1980, his ownership and operation of Bob’s Construction in Manning until his retirement in 2015. For several years during this time, Bob and his brother Eugene frequently partnered with their own construction businesses. His passion for the business was admirable and he passed the torch to his son, Steven, ensuring the continuation of a thriving family enterprise. Even during retirement, Bob enjoyed joining Steve at job sites.

In his spare time, Bob enjoyed woodworking, fishing, driving around, gardening and working on his vehicles. Bob's interests were deeply rooted in his family, a passion that guided his every decision and action. He found joy in the simple moments spent with his loved ones, cherishing their laughter and creating lasting memories together. One of his treasured accomplishments was being sober for more than 33 years and helping leading others in AA meetings for several years.

Bob passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Accura Healthcare of Carroll, attaining the age of 72 years, 10 months, and 28 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Connie Snyder; a brother Eugene Snyder; a sister-in-law Diana Fagan and Connie’s parents Bill and Pat Sibbel.

Bob is survived by his three children: Robert W. (Lorie) Snyder of Manning; Steven (Stephanie) Snyder of Manning; and Debra (Cody) Swanson of Manning; Nine grandchildren: Kurtis, Dylan and Devin Snyder; Madelyn, Eian, Westen and Ivy Snyder; and Blayze and Lexie Swanson; sisters: Nancy (Ron) Hauser of Carroll; Mary Jane (Erwin) Haberl of Maple River; and Linda (Duane) Armstead of Greenfield; two sisters-in-law Peggy (Jim) Black of Polk City and Joyce Snyder of Breda; and a brother-in-law Bob Fagan of Manning.
