Mr. Robert Gene “Bob” Swain, 90, of Grand Saline, passed away February 19, 2026. He was born June 20, 1935, in Fruitvale, to Jack Forrest and Lola Clyde Swindall Swain. Bob was a lifelong resident of Grand Saline, where he graduated from GSHS, Class of 1953, and owned and operated Gulf Service Station for many years. He married Nancy George on June 16, 1956. Mr. Swain was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, J.C. and Peggy Swain; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine and Albert Lacy, and Faye and Herbert Carroll.
Survivors include his wife of almost 70 years, Nancy Swain of Grand Saline; four sons, Mark Swain of Grand Saline, Mitchell Swain of Wylie, Michael and Janice Swain of Grand Saline, and Matthew and Jennifer Swain of Birmingham, AL; five grandchildren, Brandon Swain, Austin and Andrea Swain, Margaret Swain, Jack Swain, and Virginia Swain; five great-grandchildren, Avery Swain, Ainsley Swain, London Swain, Natalie Swain, and Savannah Gene Swain; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
