Robert "Bobby" David Cauthen, 68, of Midland, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 at his home in his sleep.
Bobby was born August 25, 1956 in Cabarrus County to Annie Jane Greene Cauthen and the late Bobby Ray Cauthen.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at United Love Baptist Church, 11487 Flowes Store Road, Midland, NC. Officiants will be Rev. Marvin Tyson, Rev. Lewis Whittington, and Rabbi Yossi Wentz.
He graduated Central Cabarrus High School in 1975 and was a member of the Air Force Junior ROTC. Upon graduation he joined the US Navy for 15 years. Bobby was proud to serve his country and proud to be an American. After 42 years, God brought Bobby and Barbara back together as one. They enjoyed taking day trips to small towns. Bobby enjoyed old classic movies, music, PBS shows, and war movies.
He survived state 4 cancer and gave all the glory to God. He loved his two fur children, Ms. Ellie and Mr. Pippin, and he was a computer nerd. He loved spending time together with his family and friends and being a part of the Cabarrus Ham Radio group which covered 100 countries.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Barbara Carpenter Simons Cauthen. They were married for seven years and together for ten years. Other survivors include his mother, Annie Cauthen of Harrisburg; , Ray Cauthen and his wife, Lynn, of Unionville and sister Sharon Braswell and her husband, Phillip of Concord; daughter, Bobbie Jo McLaurin of Statesville, and son Andrew of Pennsylvania and daughter Tisha Mauney of Concord.
Bobbie will be buried at sea in the future.
