A well known native of Jessamine County Robert “Bobby” Powell left his earthly home on Thursday March 6, 2025, at his home after a lengthy illness in the presence of his family. Bobby was well known for building homes of perfection and being an astute businessman. He lived by the Golden Rule “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” regardless of whether he was building or selling you real estate always treating you fair. He was also former owner of B & S Equipment and was a US Army Veteran. His family said his main hobby was work but having his family around, playing golf and riding motorcycles was some of his favorite activities. Bobby will be forever remembered by his loving wife Brenda Fulkerson Powell to whom he has been married to for 46 years, his son Robert “Robby” Powell II, wife Darlene and daughter Brandy Fulkerson Baird , husband Chad, grandchildren Zoe Baird, Justin Powell, great grandson Maverick Powell, and brother Steve Ison as well as numerous cousins and extended family members. He will be missed by Charles David Collins who had a working relationship with Bobby four over 45 years which developed into a friendship. He will be welcomed at the river by his mother Mina Wiley Powell, brother Charles Powell, daughter Tonya Faye Powell, wife Alice Faye Powell and Marietta Hager who raised him as he was her own. His family will receive friends on Wednesday March 12 starting at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM following with a private entombment in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Justin Powell, Rob Powell, Steve Ison, Jeff Grinstead, Shawn Thomas Leach, and Joey Lawson. Honorary bearers will be Armster and Betty Bruner, Clay Corman, Charles David Collins and Allen VanArsdell. His family has requested donations be made in his memory to Gods Pantry 2201 Innovation Dr. Lexington, KY 40511. Romans 8-31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? All arrangements are under the direction of Hager & Funeral Home and we would like to express our deepest sympathy to the Powell family and friends.
