Robert J. Bookman

Robert J. Bookman passed away on the morning of January 1, 2026 after a long illness, with his loving wife of 33 years, Zita, by his side while holding hands.
He was born on March 21, 1942 to the late Henry and Helen (Schulenburg) Bookman.
Robert served four years in the United States Navy and three years in the National Guard. He married his true love, Zita on February 14, 1991. Their marriage was a true love story with a beautiful blended family. Robert retried in management of tool stores after 30 years from New Venture Gear.
His true passions consisted of golfing, bowling, gardening, model trains and coaching little league baseball.
In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his youngest beloved daughter, Heather.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Zita; sister, Maryanne; son, Marc (Kim) Bookman; daughter, Kimberly (Chris) Schoemann; step-children, Christopher Barth, Lisa (Craig) Letizia, Johanna (Blake) Evans, and Carla Johnson; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at Watson Funeral Home on 631 S. Main Street in Central Square, on Saturday January 10 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm with a prayer service immediately to follow. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
