Robert P. Boyd

Robert P. "Bob" Boyd, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family following a brief illness on November 13, 2023, at the age of 79. Robert was born on October 21, 1944, in Canton, Ohio to the late Bernard and Harriet Boyd. Bob graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1963. Upon graduation he proudly served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. After his military service he was employed for 49 years at Sugardale/Freshmark. He was beloved by so many and had a humble, servant's heart. He enjoyed tinkering in his workshop or on his computer. There was not a television he couldn't fix nor an electronic gadget he couldn't build. As a model train enthusiast his favorite pastime was showing family, friends and especially his grandkids his model train layout where hours were spent designing/building the perfect layout and running it with the grandkids.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas L. Boyd.
Bob will be missed by so many, but especially his loving family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years of marriage, Christine "Tina" Boyd; children, Denise M. Boyd, Melissa B. (Justin) Frye, and Michael A. (Michelle) Boyd; and grandchildren, Thomas, Stella, and Olivia Frye, and Eleanor, and Emerson Boyd.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 10:30 am at Devine Mercy Parish St. Mary Catholic Church Massillon with his brother-in-law Rev. Richard Pentello officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home.
