Robert R. Boyle, age 81, passed away at his home on July 16, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Robert was born on June 23, 1944, to Ralph C. Boyle and Nancy M. (Selby) Boyle in Sioux City, Iowa. He was the oldest of three children, with younger brothers Jim Boyle and Harry Boyle. In 1950, the Boyle family moved to rural Vernon County to set roots on the family farm.
Robert attended grade school at the local Oak Grove Schoolhouse and later attended El Dorado Springs High School, graduating in 1962. Following graduation, he went to work at the International Shoe Factory before pursuing his own mechanic business, which he operated for over 20 years. He later worked for O'Sullivan Industries in Lamar, Missouri, and retired in June 2005.
In 1996, Robert married Helen McDaniel Burr in Miami, Oklahoma, and she survives at their home.
Robert's passions were fast cars and antique tractors. As a young man, he built his own car-a 1938 Chevy Coupe-and raced at Mo-Kan Dragway. In the 1970s, he began collecting tractors. Over the years, many family members joined him in restoring and enjoying these vintage machines.
Robert is survived by his wife, Helen; daughter Diane Earll (Eddie) of Nevada, Missouri; son Bobby Boyle (Marry) of Asbury, Missouri; daughter Krystal Everhart (Troy) of Lamar, Missouri; daughter Tonya Bennett (Thomas) of Sedgwick, Kansas; brothers Jim Boyle and Harry Boyle, both of Milo, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to Vernon County Cancer Relief, in care of Bland Hackleman Funeral Home.
