Kenneth Wayne Pike, 53, crossed the final finish line with checkers flying high, on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, following complications from a stroke he endured while at Salina Highbanks Speedway doing what he loved, watching modifieds. He was a beloved son, brother, father, grandpa, and friend.
Kenny was born in Nevada, MO on May 18, 1971, to Everett "Lee" and Linda Pike. He graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1990. He married Janet in 1992, and to their union, Justin was born. Through the years, Kenny had several occupations, but building racing cars was his preference.
In 2021, he became employed at Harleman Manufacturing as a welder/fabricator and continued this career until the time of his passing.
To know Kenny, was to love him. He was always there to lend a hand to help anyone in need, whether it was at the racetrack, around the shop, or anywhere else he went. He'd give the shirt off his back, even if that meant he was left with nothing. Thats just who he was.
When it came to dirt track racing, he was an avid racer, fan, and pit crew help. During his 30+ years of racing, you'd never see him at the track without a smile on his face.
In his free time, he also loved to fish, roller-skate, and would often throw a majority of strikes at the bowling alley.
He is survived by his son, Justin Pike (Marcy); Mother, Linda Pike; sister, Tanja Wehmeyer (Travis); brother Bradley Pike; granddaughter, Bella Pike; as well as uncles, aunts, cousins and a special friend Trillie.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Everett & Bernice Pike, and Calvin and Clara "Jeanette" Russell; his father Everett "Lee" Pike and one grandson.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 3rd, at 11:00 AM at the Church of God Holiness Church in El Dorado Springs, MO.
For Remembrance and honor, a headstone will be placed at the Deerfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Nevada Speedway for Kenny Pike Memorial Race.
