Polkton - On Friday, January 19, 2024, Mr. Robert Francis "Bobby" Briley, 87, passed away peacefully at his home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 26, 2024 at Brown Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Williams and Rev. Doug Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Leavitt Funeral Home.
Bobby was born February 22, 1936 in Anson County, a son of the late King Briley and Eloise Medlin Briley. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of North Carolina State University. Bobby was a real estate broker and a lifelong cattle farmer. He was a faithful member of Brown Creek Baptist Church, having taught Sunday School class, served as a deacon, and was Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Bobby found a joy in gardening and will be remembered for his generosity to the community.
Surviving are his sister, Carolyn King and husband, Bob of Cumming, Ga; his sister-in-law, Betty Briley of Gastonia, NC; his nephews, Todd Briley and Kevin Briley both of Gastonia, NC, Darrell King and wife, Susan of Cumming, Ga, Mike King and wife, Caroline of Marietta Ga. and their sons, Justin and Dylan King; his adopted daughter, Samantha Cook of Polkton and her sons, Carter and Holden Cook.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Theron “T.K.” Briley.
