Robert Dean Brixey, son of the late Harley and Arlene (Proctor) Brixey, was born November 18, 1942, in Denlow, Missouri. He passed from this life on July 2, 2024, at the Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, Missouri, at the age of 81.
Robert grew up and attended school at Denlow through the seventh grade then attended Skyline for the eighth grade. He then attended Mountain Grove High School graduating with the class of 1960. He went on to School of the Ozarks for 2 years. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served from October 1962 until October 1966. While in the Air Force he worked in the Titan II missile program.
Robert was united in marriage to Doris Hutchison on August 27, 1969. One son was born to this union. They made their home on a farm located south of Norwood in Douglas County. Robert enjoyed being outside working on the farm.
He was honored in 2019 as a fifty-year member of the Masonic Lodge. He served on numerous boards throughout his life.
Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Doris (Hutchison) Brixey; one brother, Harley Dwayne Brixey; and two sisters, Lorene Johnston, and Bonnie Mullens.
Robert is survived by his son, James Brixey and wife, Jana, of Norwood; two grandchildren, Jenna Brixey and Jacob Brixey of Norwood; two sisters, June Chambers of Memphis, Tennessee, and Shirley Brixey of Willow Springs, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.
