In Loving Memory of Robert Joseph Broucek
November 13, 1945 - May 19, 2025
Robert Joseph Broucek, age 79, of Dayton, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2025, with his beloved wife, Pam, by his side.
Born on November 13, 1945, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Bob was the son of Rudolph and Helen (Paul) Broucek. He was raised on the family farm near Waubun, MN, and attended Hart Country School through the eighth grade, later graduating from Mahnomen High School in 1963. In August 1966, Bob answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Army. He served honorably for three years, including a tour in Vietnam, and was discharged on August 29, 1969.
In April 1971, Bob married Joan Whirl, and although their paths later diverged, he found love again with Pam Kemper. They were united in marriage on September 24, 1977, in Mahnomen, MN. Together, they built a life centered on love and family and were blessed with two daughters, Heather and Melinda.
Bob dedicated 15 years of his career to LaMaur, Inc. in Fridley, MN, before establishing his own tax and accounting firm in 1985. Alongside Pam, he nurtured and grew their business until his retirement in 2010 due to health concerns. Even after retiring, Bob remained active in the field until beginning dialysis in 2018.
A man of deep faith, Bob was a devoted member of St. Stephen's Catholic Community in Anoka for 47 years. He was also proud to serve with the Knights of Columbus and as a member of the Minnesota Society of Enrolled Agents and the National Association of Enrolled Agents. Above all, family was Bob's greatest joy. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and found great happiness in sharing his love of fishing with them.
Bob is survived by his wife Pam (Kemper) Broucek; his daughters: Heather Broucek of Champlin, MN, and Melinda (Chris) Ouellette of Dayton, MN; his grandchildren: Drew Broucek, Jenna Ouellette, Lainie Ouellette, and Paige Ouellette. He is also survived by his sisters: Dorothy Andring of Mankato, MN, Maryann Kochmann of Maplewood, MN, and Kathy (Steve) Kemper of Fargo, ND; his sisters- and brothers-in-law: Sally Broucek of Peoria, AZ, Sue (Don) Jokumsen of Mahnomen, MN, Patti (Odin) Helgerson of Fargo, ND, Mary Lindquist (Nancy Garza) of Paige, TX, Jodi (Greg) Hutchinson of Billings, MT, and Janet (Patrick) Showalter of St. Paul, MN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Jim and Pearl Kemper; a brother, Donovan; brothers-in-law, Michael Kochmann and Scott Kemper; and a nephew, Neil Andring.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 30, 2025, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church 525 Jackson Street Anoka, MN 55303, with visitation 1 hour prior at the church. A time of gathering for family and friends will take place from 5-8pm (Rosary at 7pm) on Thursday, May 29th at Washburn McReavy in Coon Rapids 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd NW, Coon Rapids MN 55433.
Bob's legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength will live on in all who knew him.
