Robert A. Brown

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert A. Brown, of Hollis, NH, on September 23, 2025.

Bob was born on July 4, 1936, at his home in Yonkers, New York. He was the son of the late George V. and Elizabeth (Erickson) Brown. He called Armonk, NY his home for 52 years, where he raised his family, supported community parades and sporting events, and coached little league before relocating to Hollis, NH in 2020.

A talented athlete, Bob excelled in basketball and baseball at Saunders High School in Yonkers, NY. He earned a full scholarship for basketball to NYU, where he received his bachelor's degree in marketing and played collegiate basketball.

Outside of work and sports, Bob found joy in pigeon racing—a hobby he pursued with passion and dedication.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Hazel Brown of Hollis, NH. He was the proud father of Kim Brown Fazio and her husband Joe of Pepperell, MA; the late Robert Brown Jr. (Bobby); and Christopher Brown and his wife Lisa of Pembroke, NH. He leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Nina and Joey Brown of Armonk, NY, and Zoe and Wyatt Brown of Pembroke, NH.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law Marie Brown, wife of his late brother Arthur Brown of Laconia, NH, along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by his siblings, George Brown (and wife Maricia) of NY and Ethel Brown Demuro (and husband Frank) of NY.

Bob will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by those who knew him. His sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to family were constants throughout his life.

Calling hours will be held at McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main Street (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Thursday, October 2nd from 4 – 7 pm.

A graveside service will be held at East Cemetery, 29 Wheeler Road, Hollis, NH, on Friday, October 3rd at 11 am.
