Robert was a 1949 graduate of Jefferson City High School, attended Jefferson City Junior College, and later graduated from Lincoln University in 1959.

Robert served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He was a founding member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, taught adult Sunday School, served on several church committees including Church Council and Mission Projects over the last 30 plus years. Faith was a very important part of his life, and he set a wonderful example for his family.

He loved working in the yard, producing a garden, and working around the house. Robert enjoyed sports of any kind and was an avid fan of western movies and books. But most of all, he loved his family.
