Robert E. Burbank

Robert E. Burbank, a man of spirited nature and faith-filled heart, passed away peacefully at home on February 22, 2025, at the age of 82 with his family by his side. Born on October 22, 1942, in Worcester, Bob lived a life rich in family, work, and passion for history.
Bob was a graduate of Grafton High School and went on to serve his country as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard, an experience that shaped much of his character and values.
After his service, he became a beloved figure in his community through his business, The Village Smithy, where he worked as the self-proclaimed "equine podiatrist." His skillful hands and warm demeanor earned him respect and friendship among those who knew him.
The love story between Bob and his late wife, Carolee (White) Burbank, was one for the ages. Together, they shared a love for the King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley, often traveling to judge Elvis impersonator shows across the country. He was an avid Civil War re-enactor, a hobby that allowed him to bring history to life and educate others on the era they were so passionate about.
Bob was a dedicated member of Valley Chapel in Uxbridge, where he found a community of like-minded individuals who shared his faith and commitment to service. His presence will be deeply missed.
Family was the cornerstone of Bob's life. He was a loving father to his son, Matthew S. Burbank of Uxbridge, and his daughter, Carrie Lee Bergman and her husband Donnie of Oxford. He was a cherished brother to Sue Pelletier and her husband Bob of VA, and he held fond memories of his brother Phil Burbank, who predeceased him. Bob's legacy continues through his four adoring grandchildren, Ezra, Lucy, Lukas, and Madison, who will carry on his spirit and teachings.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 10 – 11 AM in the Valley Chapel, 14 Hunter Road, Uxbridge followed by a funeral service at 11 AM in the church.
Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Uxbridge.
