We were saddened to hear of Bob Burke's passing. I first knew Bob as a fellow member of the Bates College Board of Trustees, where we served together on the Budget and Finance Committee. There, as elsewhere in his life, Bob offered immense value and garnered great respect. I later knew him as a neighbor in our small Boston condominium building, where Bob served alongside my husband on the governing board. It was a pleasure getting to know Bob and his wonderful wife Jane as neighbors. Both Bob and Jane showed great courage and determination as his Parkinson's Disease progressed. We will miss him greatly.
