Robert Alfred "Bob" Burrows

Robert "Bob" Burrows, 80, of Waldorf, MD, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, February 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

A proud veteran, Bob served in the United States Coast Guard from 1965 to 1971. He achieved the rank of Engineman Second Class and carried that sense of duty into his civilian career. Following his honorable discharge, Bob joined the Xerox Corporation, where he became one of the most respected engineers and instructors on the East Coast. Over his 38-year career, he was often consulted for complex technical challenges and was a dedicated instructor at Xerox's technical schools in Rochester, NY and Reston, VA.

In 1972, Bob married the love of his life, Linda. Together, they built a life centered on family and service. Bob and Linda were always on the move as they raised their 3 sons in their Waldorf home. Despite a demanding travel schedule, Bob was a constant presence in his sons' lives, coaching their soccer teams and managing the bingo operations at St. Peter's Church for 16 years. In retirement, his greatest joy was his role as a grandfather.

Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Linda; his sons, Steve (Katrina), Mike (Jennifer), and Chris (Jessica); his brother, Frank (Nancy); and his five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Raymond Funeral Service in La Plata, MD on Monday, March 16, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 17th at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Piscataway at 11:00 AM followed by interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
