Robert Edward Butter, 68, “Bob” was called home to be with our Lord on October 6, 2024. He was born on May 30, 1956, and is preceded in death by his mother, Rosemarie (Asturino), father, Charles “Skinny,” sister, Patricia Ann Paul, and brother, Dennis. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Jeff Paul, and his cherished niece, Jennifer Rose Paul. Both Jeff and Jennifer were with him at the time of his death. Bob was the bird dad to GreyBeard. Bob is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins on his maternal and paternal side. Bob had too many people to mention that called him friend, dating back to his childhood.
Bob was born in McKees Rocks to a loving and close-knit family and resided in Mount Lebanon since 1990. Bob was the owner and principal of Veritas Communications Advisors, which he founded in 2004. Bob was a humble, hard-working, and generous man who provided organizations, non-profits, law firms, universities, and many other businesses with communication leadership. He could announce important news, squash fires, and write an eloquent obituary and press release. Bob’s clients hired him for his communication knowledge and strategies, his brilliant mind, and his ability to trouble-shoot and problem solve. He knew how to collaborate and draw people in, always making you laugh.
Bob’s Catholic faith was the pillar, basis, and foundation of his life. He was active in Saint Stanislaus Church. He loved his family fiercely and was a staunch and loyal friend to many. Bob was simply one-of-one, and we will miss him terribly but are comforted to know he is with God and his cherished family, whom he missed dearly, especially this past year, after his sister Patty passed away suddenly.
