Vivian Faye Butter

Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Faye Butter will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Elwood Baptist Church, Forest Hill, with Reverend Michael Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Butter Cemetery, Forest Hill, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mrs. Butter, 89, of Forest Hill, entered eternal rest on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Naomi Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Alexandria, LA.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Elwood Baptist Church. She loved cooking, gardening, watching RFD-TV channel, and spending time with her family. Vivian will be remembered for her restaurant, Vivian Vittles. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Butter; her parents, Arthur and Hazel Johnson; four brothers, Arthur Johnson, William "Billy" Johnson, James "Jimmy" Johnson, and Charles Thad Johnson; two sisters, Wilma "Eloise" Clark and Mary "Betty" Kennedy; her son-in-law, John Sharp; and one grandson, William "Josh" Butter.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include three sons, Gabby Butter of Forest Hill, Roger Butter (Helene) of Lafayette, and William "Buddy" Butter (Carlyss) of Gardner; two daughters, Donna Sharp of Forest Hill, and Sheila Falcon (Dan) of Marrero; one brother, Carl "Boots" Johnson (Ruby) of Augusta, Georgia; one sister, Dorothy Billings of Alexandria; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held at Elwood Baptist Church, Forest Hill, on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
Pallbearers honored to serve are: Terry Stokes, Jerry Babb, Mark Sharp, Casey Sharp, Jay Babb, and Sam Takacs.
