Robert C. Cain, passed away on February 13, 2024, at the age of 86. Robert was born in Clinton, IN on September 25, 1937, the next to the youngest of eleven children born to parents, Clifford C. and Bessie (Emerson) Cain. Robert served his country honorably in the US Army for 6 months and the Army Reserves for eight years. He retired from RCA in 1994 and then went on to own and operate his own TV repair business for many years.
Following retirement, Robert and his wife, Dutchie, lived and traveled in a motorhome throughout the US, Canada and parts of Mexico, for four years. They also enjoyed day trips the last few years, driving being his passion. Robert also enjoyed tending to his home, cars, motorcycles and most importantly spending time with his beloved family and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Verdith “Dutchie” (Lawyer) Cain; children: Jay Cain (wife, Terri), Patrick Cain (wife, Patty) and daughter, Cindy Wood (husband, Tracy); 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many other loving extended family and adored friends.
Friends may gather from 11am until 1pm on Monday, February 19, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington Street, Indpls). Funeral services will immediately follow, beginning at 1pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
