It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert John Cameron III, “Bob.” Bob was born on June 19, 1950, to Robert John and Margo Cameron in Salt Lake City, Utah, and passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, surrounded by family after a heroic 33-year fight with cancer.
Bob lived a life defined by kindness, faith, and devotion to his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Cameron, in 1969. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, perseverance, and family, raising four children. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose strength and determination were evident to all who knew him.
Bob loved camping, hiking, golfing, biking, skiing, cruising, and above all, spending time with his family. Whether exploring the outdoors, traveling, or simply being together, he found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. Bob and Sharon also found joy in serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Utah State Prison.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Cameron; his sister Carrie Kuo, his children Saunya Schow, Tiffany Bailey, Robert “RJ” Cameron IV, and Ross Cameron; his 12 grandchildren Brady, Monica, Mckayla, Alyssa, Abbey, Luke, Cameron, Madison, Hannah, Owen, Duke, and Dax; and 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward his legacy.
Bob’s courage throughout decades of illness was nothing short of extraordinary, and his life stands as a testament to resilience, loyalty, and enduring love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Services will be held on February 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery. 3115 Bengal Boulevard, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Family and friends are welcome to attend a viewing beforehand from 9:30–10:45 a.m.
