Robert Campbell Obituary

Robert F. Campbell, 92, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, at Concordia at Cabot.
He was born Oct. 5, 1933, in Butler, son of the late Roy A. Campbell and Sarah G. (Langland) Campbell.
Robert was a graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1952, where he played for the basketball team in 1951 and 1952. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country honorably in Germany during peacetime. Robert worked at Armco Steel for 41 years as a general foreman of north processing, retiring April 30, 1993. He was a former member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, where he served as elder, deacon and trustee.
Robert was an avid sports fan and was a member of Armco Country Club, where he was involved with his golf league. He was also a big fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren playing sports and was a coach for Meridian Little League Baseball as well as church basketball and softball. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family; especially yearly family vacations to the Outer Banks, N.C., and to Long Beach Island, N.J.
He is survived by two sons, David Campbell, of Mt. Lebanon, and Bruce Campbell, of Butler; one daughter, Karen Harpel and her husband, Jim (also Robert's favorite son-in-law), of Butler; his grandchildren, Tony (Christina) Harpel, of Pittsburgh, Samantha Harpel, of Renfrew, Jacob (Taylor) Campbell, of Zelienople, and Christopher Campbell, of Zelienople; his nieces; Barbara Radzyminski, Nancy Rettig, Connie Malinski, Susan Lichacz and Amy Swigart; and other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marian E. Campbell, whom he married June 2, 1956, and who passed away Feb. 13, 2010; four brothers; and four sisters.
CAMPBELL - A visitation for Robert F. Campbell, who died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
He will be laid to rest beside his wife in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, in Prospect.
