Robert M. "Bob" Cataline, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, at his hometown in Bay City, Michigan, at the age of 85. Born on May 21, 1940, also in Bay City, Bob's life was a testament to the virtues of hard work, family, and the simple joys of the outdoors.

Bob grew up in Bay City, where he attended local schools and quickly became known for his friendly demeanor and infectious humor. After graduating, he poured his energy into building a successful heating and cooling business, which he owned and operated with the same integrity and dedication he brought to every aspect of his life. His professional involvement extended beyond his business, as he was an active participant in local associations, contributing to the growth and betterment of his industry.

Family was the cornerstone of Bob's life. He is survived by his loving children, Amy (David) Rose and Robert Cataline II. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Christian (Miranda) Lohr, Eli Humphert, Carter (Jenna) Rose, Clarissa (Tyler) Atkins, Makaile, Zachary, and Lulu Rose, and his great-grandchildren, Micah Lohr, Carson Atkins, Avery, and Roman Rose. Bob also leaves behind his loyal dog, Zeke, and his brother, Richard Cataline. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol (Mahoney) Cataline, his daughter Melissa, his brother William, and his sister Mable.

Bob's love for the outdoors was well-known. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding peace and solace in the rhythms of nature. His yard and garden were the envy of his neighbors, showcasing his dedication to nurturing and growing, both in flora and in life. Each season brought a new bounty, which he generously shared with friends and family.

Those who knew Bob will remember him as loving, funny, and friendly. His laughter was a beacon of light that could warm the coldest of days. His sense of humor was a gift that he shared liberally, bringing joy and levity to those around him. Bob was a man who made friends easily and kept them for life, his loyalty and compassion as enduring as his memory will be.

We would like to thank the staff at Bayfield's Assisted Living and memory care of Bay City for their exceptional care of our Dad. We would also like to thank Corscocare Hospice for their compassionate care.

Funeral service will be on Friday August 8, 2025 at 3pm at Rivertown Funeral Chapel with Charlie Campbell presiding. Visitation will be on Friday from 2pm till time of service.
