Robert (Bob) Chaffee was a colleague, mentor, and friend to me for over twenty years at South Burlington High School, VT., where we taught mathematics, side by side. And, his wife Mary Ann and I shared our roots from Spaulding High School in Barre, VT. Bob and Mary Ann had great socials at their home with colleagues, friends, and neighbors, fun, warm events through the years. Bob, Mary Ann, and family enjoyed their camp (other home), on Cape Cod, as well as extensive travel. One could say that Bob truly had a full life for his many years on this earth. He will be missed by all who knew him. God bless you, Bob, on your new journey.

Mr. Chaffee was my math teacher for Fortran at SBHS. I remember his gentleness, kindness, and maybe the ability to look past my not-so- original homework. His life was incredible! His educational degrees and leadership positions are honorable accomplishments. My condolences to the family knowing they have fond memories of a wonderful man.
