Robert "Bob" Dean Chamley, 80, of Dell Rapids, SD, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 under hospice care. Visitation will be from 1:30pm - 3:30pm on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau, SD.
Robert was born August 22, 1944, to Russell L. (Bud) and Marguerite (Tootie) (Headrick) Chamley of Egan, SD. He attended and graduated from Egan Public Schools in 1964. Bob married Shirley (Krogman) on July 9, 1971. Together, they had two children, Katie and Tony.
In his spare time Bob enjoyed the outdoors. Over the years you could find him hunting, fishing or just driving around to find someone to visit with. In his later years, you were able to spot Bob on the road during the summer months enjoying his cruising car, a 1956 Chevy Bel Air. Bob was always the friendly face on the road who would always have a friendly wave to anyone he met along his journey. Although Bob had several health challenges over the years, his spirit and laugh never showed defeat. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Grateful to have shared his life are his daughter, Katie (Chris) Wolfhorse of Flandreau, his son Tony (Tammy) Chamley of Dell Rapids; his five grandchildren, Harley, Katrina and Jack Wolfhorse and Ashton and Rylee Chamley. He is also survived by his brothers, Larry and Wayne; sisters, Diane, Joyce, Debbie and Carol; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Donny and Dick Chamley.
