Robert Charowsky, 68, of Ortley Beach, Toms River Twp., NJ, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024. He was better known to everyone as Bob.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was a lifelong resident of Jersey City before moving to Ortley Beach in 2020.
Robert was a Supervisor for the United States Postal Service in Jersey City for many years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 1378, Union City, NJ.
Bob was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees fan. He loved going on trips, especially to Las Vegas and Florida. He loved going to casinos and horse race tracks. He loved driving anywhere and taking trips. He was so happy to relocate to peaceful Ortley Beach. He loved a nice day at the beach and an iced cold Michelob Ultra. He loved to watch game shows, especially his favorite, The Price is Right. He had an extensive baseball cap collection from everywhere he went. And he enjoyed a nice ice cream cone.
He was the happiest spending time with his family and friends. He always offered to do everything for everyone else and never complained. He thought of everyone else before thinking of himself. He was recently blessed with a beautiful granddaughter, Iris, who instantly became the light of his world.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Bea Charowsky.
He is survived by:
-his wife of 42 years, Patricia (nee Ferenc)
-his two children Robert Charowsky and daughter-in-law Margiori of Woodland Park, NJ and Heather Charowsky of Ortley Beach, NJ
-two brothers Michael Charowsky of Kearny, NJ and Dominick Charowsky of Lebanon, NJ, and two sisters Janice Charowsky of Secaucus, NJ and Maria Charowsky of Harrington Park, NJ
-Granddaughter Iris and step-granddaughter Kairi

Bobby was my first cousin. We grew up together in Jersey City. I have so many fond memories of him down the shore having a great time! And, even though I hadn't seen him in years, I still felt his loss deeply. He was the best! I will miss him greatly and think of him often, as I know everyone who's lives he touched felt the same way. Love you Bobby! Rest in peace.
