Robert Edward Cherney, 71, Kewaunee, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on June 10, 2025. Born on August 27, 1953, Robert enjoyed a life filled with cherished memories, simple pleasures, and family bonds.
Robert was a proud graduate of the Kewaunee High School Class of '71. He spent many years working as a dedicated machinist at the Manitowoc Company, but his heart was always close to home, where he helped on the family farm.
In his free time, Robert found joy in the great outdoors. He loved nothing more than spending a day deer hunting or perfecting his swing out on the golf course. The memories he made cutting the lawn at Par 5 and cheering on the Green Bay Packers at the shack with friends will forever hold a special place in our hearts. He also looked forward to evenings at Brewer games, just as much as grabbing lunch at Beverly Gardens.
Robert is survived by his brothers Joseph (Carol) Cherney of Kewaunee and Norbert (Ethel) Cherney of Manitowoc. He leaves behind two nephews, Craig and Brian Cherney, and four nieces, Stacy (Dale) Mueller, Kim (Brad) Robinson, Wendy (Ryan) Destree, and Dawn (Jason) Donlinger.
A visitation will take place on Monday, June 16, 2025, at St. Hedwig Catholic Church from 9:30-11:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am with fr. Dennis Drury officiating. Burial will follow St. Joseph Cemetery in Norman. Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family. Online condolence messages may be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
