Robert W. Chicoler

Robert W. Chicoler, 92, of Windsor, beloved husband of the late Betty J. Chicoler, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Suffield House in Suffield, CT. Born January 7, 1933 in Malden, MA, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Harriet (Williams) Chicoler. After graduating in 1951 from Malden High School, he enlisted and served in the US Army during the Korean War for almost three years. Betty and Robert met in high school and married in 1953, sharing close to 72 years of marriage. After proudly serving his country he received his degree from The Wentworth Institute of Technology. He spent most of his career in the commercial kitchen design industry. Following retirement, he was a driver for Bill Selig Ford in Windsor for nearly 10 years. Robert and his family enjoyed spending summer vacations in Vermont at their cottage on Lake Dunmore. He loved fishing, boating, and was a car enthusiast. He was very active in the Poquonock Community Congregational Church, singing in the choir and serving on various committees. He was a sports enthusiast, and a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Robert is survived by three daughters, Linda Kirkpatrick and her husband, Gordon Masters of Westminster, MD, Karynn Ketiinq of New Preston, CT, and Robin Guimond and her husband, Paul, of Windsor, his five grandchildren, Erin, Daniel, Katie, Julie, and Nicholas, as well as four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Chicoler. His family will receive friends on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 11 AM– 12 PM followed by funeral services at 12:00 PM at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial with military honors will be in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Windsor.
