Robert Choate Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home on Mar. 2, 2026.
WATERFORD, NY. Robert "Rob" Kilburn Choate Jr., 69, left his suffering behind at Westchester Medical Center on February 25, 2026. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Virginia Gail Boswell and Robert K. Choate, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Kennedy, their daughter and son-in-law Margaret "Maggie" and Thomas Meade, and his cherished granddaughters Charlotte "Charlie" and Francesca "Frankie" Meade.

Rob was truly a Renaissance man, with profound knowledge of nature, art, architecture, science and mechanics. He led an incredible life, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, racing his motorcycle at Daytona Speedway, traveling to every state, five continents, and too many countries to list. He was happiest with his family, at his home on the Hudson River, working in his garden, fishing, playing pool, listening to the Blues, and taking his family and friends on daily boat cruises.

A memorial service with Military Honors will be held on Friday March 13, 2026 at 4 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte.32), Waterford with a reception to follow at VanSchaick Island Country Club.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday March 13, 2026 from 2-4 pm prior to the service.
