Stephen P. Lyons

JOHNSTOWN Stephen P. Lyons, 48, of Oakwood Ave. passed away suddenly Sunday February 15, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Eugene Charles and Laurie Ann Lyons. He was educated in Stillwater schools.

Stephen was employed at the Fulton County Department of Social services. Prior to that he had been employed at Tru-West Credit Union and the Albany Times Union.

Stephen enjoyed metal detecting, card collecting, fishing, barbecuing and video games, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his family. He was fond of his canine companions Ludo, Willow and Vada.

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years Jill Amber Lyons and his devoted children, Stephen C. Lyons (Cynthia) of Canajoharie, Connor M. Lyons (Ailynn Carney) of North Port FL, Owen T. Lyons (Lily Fondry) of Latham, Brady G. Lyons (Stephanie Navarro) of Watervliet, Jacey J. Lyons, Kieran M.R. Lyons and Abel P. Lyons all of Johnstown. He is the brother of Kevin M. Lyons of Watervliet and Jason E. Lyons (Alex) of Mesa AZ. He was the proud grandfather of Stevie, Miles, Benjamin and Colton and brother-in-law of Nicholl Baker and Lindsay Brown. He is the son in law of Theresa Gervasio and life long best friend of James Sprague and Theodore Mandigo (Tabitha). He is predeceased by his grandparents and survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte.32), Waterford. Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 11 am – 2 pm prior to the funeral service.
