Robert Edward Coffman Jr.

1937 - 2018

Robert Edward Coffman, Jr. passed away at his home in Metairie on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the age of 80. He was born in Baton Rouge to the late Robert E. and Marie Babin Coffman. Robert was reared in White Castle, La. He graduated in 1961 from McNeese University in Lake Charles, where he earned his Bachelor of Science, and was a Certified Public Accountant. He retired from Avondale Shipyard, where he worked as a comptroller and was a retired board member from Luke Babin Company in White Castle. Robert enjoyed flying his airplane and was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Robert was the husband of Linda F. Michel and the father of: Dr. Robert Benjamin Coffman, DDS, Karen Louise Coffman, Karl Eugene Coffman and Christian Edward Coffman. He was the grandfather of: Stephanie Marie Coffman and Evan Charles Coffman. He had five stepchildren, seven step grandchildren and one step great grandchild. Robert was the brother of Mary Alice Coffman and Elizabeth Coffman Sims, and half brother to Dr. Mark Coffman and Barbra Ann Coffman Mayer. He is also survived by his nephews Phillip R.
