Robert Lee "Bob" Cohen, age 87, passed away at his daughter's home in Hahira, Georgia on Friday, March 14, 2025. He was with loved ones when he laid his earthly burdens down and left for his heavenly home.
Bob was born in Lafayette, Georgia on March 17, 1937 to the late Granville and late Dovie (Dominick) Cohen. He enjoyed singing along to old country and gospel music and would occasionally pick out an old tune on the guitar. He loved to create silly tunes for his children and grandchildren. He never met a stranger and loved striking up conversations with people he met while out and about. Most of all, Bob loved taking long drives with no destination in mind. Before he could no longer drive, he racked up quite a few miles on his old Ford trucks.
Bob graduated from North Georgia Technical and Vocational School in Clarksville, GA on May 11, 1965 with a certification in Radio and Television Repair and Servicing. He loved his work and spent many years devoted to his job.
In 1968, Bob married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Anglin (Addison), and together raised 10 children: hers, theirs, and his sister's.
In 1993, Bob (along with Pat and their youngest, Mara) moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico. Two years before, while there visiting another of his daughters, he absolutely fell in love with the landscape and culture of New Mexico. A huge fan of the American Southwest and all things John Wayne, he felt as if New Mexico was more his true home, and lived there for 25 years until dementia forced him to relocate back to Georgia in 2018.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Patricia Addison Cohen; daughters, Lisa Jones and Mitzi Sprayberry, a grandson, Joseph Milligan, and granddaughter, MaryAnn Anglin Capps.
He is survived by his daughters, Zina Fuller of Gray, GA, Rohnda (Bill) Wittliff of Corpus Christi Texas, Marie (Barry) Medlin of Hahira, GA, Cricket (Buddy) Nix of Covington, GA, and Mara (Vlad) Aston of Perry, GA, sons Ray (Samantha) Anglin of Conyers, GA, Ron (Sue) Anglin of North Carolina, and Jeffrey Jones of Ellijay, GA, along with many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
After battling dementia for several years, his struggle is over and he can now rest.
