Robert Samuel Colbert

1946 - 2023

Robert Samuel Colbert 76, of Pittsfield MA and Port Orange FL passed into eternal life on January 12, 2023. He is the son of the late Samuel Colbert and Viola Thorworth Colbert. Bob was a graduate of the former St. Joseph's High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps for four years, one of which was spent in Viet Nam. Upon his discharge he married his high school sweetheart Evelyn/Bonny Devinez on October 19, 1968. He worked in the GE until his lay off when he went to work at Lockheed Martin. He then worked for the Pittsfield Public Schools as a custodian until his retirement in 2008. Bob was a member of the Berkshire Benevolent Association for the Blind. He and Bonny spent winters in Port Orange FL. He is survived by his son Michael Colbert (Sherri,) of Northridge CA, and his daughter Sandra Colbert Williams (Keith) of Pittsfield. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Cody Williams of Cleveland Heights OH, Philip Williams of Pittsfield, and Madison Colbert of Northridge CA, and one great-grandson. Survivors also include sisters-in-law Bobbie Fosby (Robert) and Sr. Caroline Devinez, DHS, of Moosup CT. . The family wishes to thank the staff of Halifax Hospital and Halifax Hospice for the kind care he was given.
