Sonny Colbert was truly one of a kind. He could always make you laugh with one of his jokes. He was a true friend and saw me through some good times and hard times in my younger days. I will never forget our friendship. Sonny, you made the world a better place and I was so blessed to have known you. I look forward to seeing you again one day until then, rest easy my friend. I Love you beyond measure.

Sonny was one of a kind. He was a lifelong Friend and one of the kindest people you could ever know. He was the ultimate gentleman, and would give anyone the shirt off his back if needed. I introduced him to my best friend, Louvinia, 36 years ago, and the two of them have been one ever since. This world, and especially High Rock Lake, will never be the same without Sonny. I will never forget the times we shared, good and sad. RIP, my Friend, til we meet again

I remember a gentleman who opened the door for me, who took the time to talk to me and taught me how to water ski. He loved to Shag and to be with friends and family. He always had a smile and a laugh for everyone. Love you Sonny!

My family grew up on Cannon Street in Thomasville N C right beside him and his family. Always so kind and funny. Have heard lots of stories about him from my older sisters. Praying for you all

So sad. Sonny was such an amazing individual. He could make a person laugh and smile even on their worst day. Walt & I enjoyed so many good times with him. He is surely going to be missed. RIP dear friend.
