Robert Joseph Collins

Robert Joseph "Big Joe" Collins, 62, of Wheeling, WV passed away Monday August 25, 2025 at home with family.
He was born February 16, 1963 in Wheeling, WV to the late Robert Lee Collins and Gladys Marie Hayes. He was a graduate of Wheeling Park High School and served in the United States Marine Corps.
Big Joe was known for both his big personality and stature. He had a deep appreciation for music and was passionate about playing the drums. He also loved using music and food to bring people together. Many of his best times were spent playing music in Ohio Valley establishments and hosting cookouts and holiday parties. In the days preceding his death, he was surrounded by friends and family and insisted they "put some music on and have a cocktail."
Big Joe was preceded in death by his son, Jacob Collins. He is survived by his children, Dr. Jessica Collins, Joshua Collins, Zachary Collins, Brandon Collins, Rebecca Collins, Courtney Collins, Taylor Collins, Chelsea Collins, and Haley Collins; his sisters, Madeline Gosney and Meloniee Collins; his grandchildren, Jacob, Jase, Axston, Gemma, Jensen, and Emery; and his great grandchildren, Ace and Coen. He also leaves behind a niece and many nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, August 29th, 2025 from 4 to 8 PM at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling, WV (304-242-2311) where services will be held on Saturday August 30, 2025 at 10 AM.
Interment will be in Park View Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by the Moundsville Veteran's Honor Guard.
The funeral procession will include taking Big Joe on one last ride through South Wheeling where he spent most of life.
