He was a welder on a pipeline and worked welding big crab boats out of Crescent City, California where he resided for a short time.
Robert was a member of the Band of Brothers in La Pine, Oregon, where he helped many Veterans who needed help whether with his carpenter skills or electrical and plumbing.
Robert was a man who cared very much for his family and friends and would do anything for anyone if he could. Robert loved to go hunting and fishing with his brothers and his favorite lake was East Lake, where he camped and fished and spent quality time with his family and friends. Robert was very old-fashioned in the way that he never learned or was interested in computers or cell phones or any modern technology. He was a stubborn man is some sense people might say, but he always said that came with being a Conatser and having such a large family.
Robert was 1 of 7 children who lost his mother Opal to cancer at a very young age. So, Robert helped his father by taking care of his younger siblings while his father worked to raise his 7 children. His father William R. Conatser passed away in 1983 to heart failure. Robert was not married at the time of his passing.
He is survived by his 5 children. First being oldest daughter Sheri Reisinger and her husband David Reisinger from Altus, Arkansas., daughter number two is, Tracey Conatser from La Pine, Oregon, daughter number three is Shelly Leads and her husband Morgan Leads from Wasilla Alaska, fourth son is Robert Conatser from La Pine, Oregon, fifth son is Christopher Conatser and his wife Christina Conatser from Mena, Arkansas. Robert has ten grandchildren. Darren, Amanda, Richard, Adam, Justin, Trinity, Angel, Christopher and William. He also has two great grandchildren, Adeline and Avery. He is also survived by his sister Janice Kramer, and his brother Michael Conatser.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Opal, and his father William, daughter Roberta, his brothers, Danny, and Jerry, his sister Rose, and Joanne. He also leaves behind his 6 year old Australian Shepherd, who was his very best friend, right till the end. Always watching over and protecting Robert.
