Robert (Bob) A. Condouris passed away on October 29, 2025 in Livermore, California, where he lived for 57 years with his beloved wife Olga, who still lives in Livermore. Bob was born in Passaic, New Jersey to Anthony Condouris and Helen (Makos) Condouris. He was 94 years old.
As the youngest of four brothers growing up, he was very independent, taking the bus into New York City and helping his father with the hot dog push-cart when they went to local events. Bob always was energetic and adventurous. As an adult he ran in three marathons, including the Athens Marathon in Greece that follows the course of the first marathon. Scuba diving, skiing, and flying (he was a licensed pilot) were also some of his many hobbies.
Bob graduated from Rutgers University in 1954, where he studied journalism. He worked at RCA in New Jersey and in 1968 he and Olga moved to Livermore, CA where he worked at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a technical writer until he retired in 1994. He couldn't stay retired long, and he went on to work at Sandia National Laboratories (also in Livermore) for 9 years. During those years he and Olga had a very active social life with friends from the lab, in the local community (he was an active volunteer at the Livermore Library, for example), and with family in Greece, New Jersey, and California. Greek music, writing, videography, and travel were some of Bob's great loves, second only to his wife Olga; they were married for 61 years.
Greek celebrations and New Jersey family were always dear to his heart, and Bob remained close to many family members despite the distance.
The visitation will be 10-11 Monday, 10 November, 2025 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway, NJ; the church service will be at 11 am. Robert will be buried (at 12:30) at the Van Liew Cemetery, 557 Georges Rd., North Brunswick Township, NJ.
