Dr. Robert C. "Bob" Conklin

Robert C. Conklin, age 73, passed away April 10, 2025 at home with his family after undergoing a year of treatment for cholangiocarcinoma.

Dr. Conklin was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Trenton, St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Rutgers Graduate School of Management.

Dr. Conklin practiced pathology and nuclear medicine before working in the reinsurance field. He was a vice president and medical director at CNA before becoming a medical director for Fasano Associates for 20 years.

His proudest accomplishments included staying married for 41 years, raising the best daughter in the world, and quitting smoking.

Dr. Conklin was predeceased by his parents, William and Josy Conklin. He is survived by his wife, Sergie Conklin, and his daughter, Josy Conklin. He is also survived by his uncle, Chester Stuebben; his aunt, Claire Stuebben; his cousin, Lt. Col. Gary Stuebben (USAF, ret.) (Christi); and his cousin, Dr. Kurt Stuebben (Angela).

Bob's other interests included every aspect of automobiles and their maintenance, including collecting cars and parts, subscribing to many magazines, watching Motor Trend channel, and religiously listening to Car Talk; the stock market and its movements; yearly vegetable garden experiments; 5K walks on the Ocean Grove boardwalk; being a self-taught home DIYer; Monty Python; and, over various points of his life, reading the WSJ, Barron's, Douglas Adams, Kurt Vonnegut, PJ O'Rourke, and much more.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16th from 6-8 pm at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 17th at 12 pm at Tower Hill Presbyterian Church, 255 Harding Rd, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Burial will follow the service at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport, NJ. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, https://www.mskcc.org.
