Cone Funeral HomeRobert B. Connell, born on September 22, 1955, in Ogden, Utah, passed away on July 21, 2025, in Franklin, Kentucky. He led a life characterized by dedication and service, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by his family and friends.
Robert dedicated 26 years of his career to the Jim Bridger Power Plant. His commitment to his work was matched by a later role as a security guard at Fruit of the Loom, illustrating his steadfast work ethic and reliability.
In addition to his professional life, Robert proudly served his country for 26 years in both the Army and Air Force. His military service was a testament to his sense of duty and discipline, qualities that he carried through to all aspects of his life.
A graduate with an Associate Degree in Body Repair, Robert had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He found pleasure in hunting and fishing, along with a creative passion for building Legos. Some of the fondest memories he created were shared with his grandson Jake, playing army and enjoying their time together.
Robert is survived by his loving spouse, Carol Allred Connell, and children, Barbie Connell and Brent Connell. He also leaves behind a stepson, Cody J. Donaldson (Megan) and a stepdaughter, Rebecca L. Skipworth, as well as his sons-in-law, Mike McNamara and Josh Akin.
His family is blessed with many grandchildren, including Fraya McNamara, Ivy Donaldson, Neal R. Fall, Eli Skipworth, Faith Marie Skipworth, Jakob Akin, and Piper Donaldson, who will carry his spirit in their hearts.
Robert is also survived by his siblings; Randy Connell, Cathy Connell, Craig Connell, Anita Montiel, and Aron Roland, who will remember him fondly.
He joins in death his beloved mother, Sarah (Sally) Plant, and father, Robert E. Connell, who precede him in passing.
A visitation to honor Robert's life will be held on August 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM at Cone Funeral Home, located at 1510 Campbell Lane, Bowling Green, KY 42104.
Robert B. Connell will be remembered not only for his contributions to his family and community but also for the love and joy he brought into the lives of those around him. His legacy will surely endure in the hearts of many.
