Robert Conyers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel - Honey Grove on Jan. 7, 2026.
"Oh, the last goodbye's the hardest one to say. This is where the cowboy rides away."--George Strait
Robert Dee Conyers took his last ride on January 5, 2026. Robert Dee was born to Robert and Martha Conyers on January 28, 1964 in Bonham, Texas on his Daddy's 23rd birthday. Robert Dee was a graduate of Windom High School and the Oklahoma State Horseshoeing School.
Robert Dee was loved by many. He never met a stranger. Robert Dee would give you the last dollar he had or the shirt off his back to anyone that was in need (literally). Robert Dee loved kids, horses, and all that went with the cowboy way of life. He was a team roper, horse trainer, and farrier. Horses were his passion, but his true love was his girls and his grandson.
Robert Dee would rope the kids as they ran through the house and then talk them into doing it over and over again. There wasn't a horse that he couldn't ride or a steer he couldn't rope.
Robert Dee is survived by his mother Martha Conyers of the home, daughters- Peyton Conyers and Neely Conyers, grandson- Lux Bustillos, sisters- Renitta Hall, Melinda Gibbs (Robert), nieces- Jamie Williams (Larry), Kristen Malllicote (Matt), Robin Shuck (Travis), nephews- Russell Gibbs (Miranda) and Casey Hall (Molly), great nieces- Monica Crossland (Cody), Morgan Williams, Maesyn, Kemper, and Bryar Mallicote, Maelee and Mattie Shuck, and Ruby Gibbs, great-great nieces- Kourtni and Averie Crossland and lots of extended family with a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert Earl Conyers, grandparents Earl D and Ruby Conyers, Mortie and Myrtle Lair, brother-in-law Steve Hall.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hohenberger, Donald Foreman, Roger Foreman, Mark Lair, Colby Lair, Rickey Carter, Casey Hall, Russell Gibbs, and Mark Stallings.
Services will be at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Honey Grove on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 4pm with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Burial to follow at Allen's Chapel Cemetery.
